‘Glee’ Stars Strike a Pose for Vogue

The stars of Fox’s wildly popular Glee look like quite the fashion collective inside the pages of Vogue’s September issue.  The cast has been named the spokespeople for “Fashion’s Night Out,” the annual fall ritual that “celebrates style and shopping, the joys of inventing your own look and having a ball while doing so.”

Glee creator Ryan Murphy dished on creating the looks for each character and Lea Michele’s red carpet evolution.  Two of the show’s biggest stars, Lea Michele and Chris Colfer (who won a 2011 Golden Globe for his role), also talked fashion.  Highlights below:

Ryan Murphy on his vision for each character’s individual style:

“From the beginning, I asked the costume designer to give each of these kids an archetypal identity. We didn’t want them to look like generic mall kids. Now their looks are being copied! On the show, they don’t get to wear designer clothes, except for Chris. In fact, people ask me all the time, ‘Where does he get those clothes in Ohio?’”

Chris Colfer:

“When Glee started, I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was. In no way was I a fashion person! I did all my shopping at my small-town Target. Maybe if I dressed better I wouldn’t have had such a hard time in school. Now, as Kurt, I get to wear all these amazing things, by people whose names I can’t even pronounce.”

Lea Michele:

“I would never wear a sweater with an animal face!”

Ryan Murphy on Lea Michele’s evolving look:

“When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes— but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.”

Beyonce Covers L'UOMO VOGUE

We told you this Beyonce promo was going to be non-stop until the release of her upcoming album 4. The Queen B recently graced the cover of the July/August 2011 issue of L’UOMO VOGUE. Lounging in a black tuxedo, white tux shirt, bowtie and some Tom Ford pumps Beyonce is definitely running the world.

Talking freely with the magazine she touches on how she aspires to become an icon,

“I killed off Sasha Fierce. I don’t need her anymore. I am Sasha Fierce.  I’m much more interested in showing people the sensitive, the passionate, the compassionate person that I am. More so than Sasha Fierce.”

“Being an icon is my dream. It is the ultimate compliment and it has a lot of responsibilities. I take it very seriously.”
Two snaps and a twirl, I feel that Beyonce is well on her way to being an icon. What do you think??

Emma Watson Talks Love, Harry Potter and James Franco with Vogue

Emma Watson looks super grown up and sophisticated in this month’s Vogue issue.  Besides posing for fabulous photos, Emma talked about a wide variety of subjects; one of them being Harry Potter of course:

On her idol Patti Smith’s 2010 memoir ‘Just Kids’: “I want to live like Patti. I want to write like Patti … The book was so honest and brave. I loved the way she sees the world. I really felt that life was more beautiful after I read it, and I felt more hopeful.”

On the “bubble” that ‘Harry Potter’ created for her: “I have had no control over my life … I have lived in a complete bubble. They found me and picked me for the part. And now I’m desperately trying to find my way through it.”

On her co-star Daniel Radcliffe: “He understood what his role was … not just as an actor but as the leading man in this enormous franchise. And I think that was almost more important in a way. He held it all together. I am very grateful for him.”

On getting advice from fellow notorious multitasker James Franco: “It was such a relief to speak to someone who is trying to do the same thing I’m doing. I talked to him about juggling studying and making films and going backward and forward. He’s not afraid or limited by what he fears people will say about it.”

On love: “I’m a feminist, but I think that romance has been taken away a bit for my generation. I think what people connect with in novels is this idea of an overpowering, encompassing love — and it being more important and special than anything and everything else … I would love to not date someone in the same industry as me. Otherwise it becomes what it means to everyone else.”

On life after Hermione Granger: “Hermione is so close to who I am as a person that I’ve never really had to research a role … I’m literally rediscovering what it means to be an actress. … I’ve probably earned the right to screw up a few times … I don’t want the fear of failure to stop me from doing what I really care about.”

Emma is extremely well-spoken and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. I can’t wait to see her in other roles besides Hermione.

Rihanna Talks Daddy Issues in Vogue

Rihanna is looking mermaid inspired on the cover of Vogue’s 10th annual “Shape Issue.”  Inside, she talks about her father and how their relationship has changed since he sold her out to the tabloids:

“It really makes me question what I have become to my father. Like, what do I even mean to him?” a tearful Rihanna told the magazine. “It’s really strange. That’s the only word I can think of to describe it, because you grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness’ sakes! And then he does something so bizarre that I can’t begin to wrap my mind around it. You hear the horror stories about people going behind people’s backs and doing strange things, but you always think, Not my family. My father would never do that to me.”

“My dad went to the press and just told them a bunch of lies. Because he hadn’t talked to me after…that whole thing (Chris Brown incident)…. He never called to find out how I was doing, if I was alive, nothing. He just never called. He went straight to the press and got a check. And now he does it again.”

“Now I’m like, Whatever, I tried.”

Rihanna revealed that her father most recently sold childhood pictures of her to various tabloids…damn, that’s rough.  Anyways, she is looking beautiful as usual for her spread:
