Video: Pitbull Responds to Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit

Lindsay Lohan was about six months too late when she decided to file a lawsuit against Pitbull for using her name in his smash hit “Give Me Everything.” Today, Pitbull is finally addressing the lawsuit through an interview. He states that he meant no malice when using the actress as part of his lyrics:

“I was very surprised when I found out about the lawsuit. To me it was very ironic, to be honest with you. At first I read it and I thought, ‘It’s gotta be a joke.’ [But] come to find out that’s it’s very realistic. When I mention Lindsay Lohan in the record it’s really a positive message. When I say I got it locked up, if you play at the park, if you from the neighborhood, when they say you got it locked up, that means you run that area. In no way shape or form would I want to bring that on anybody and I didn’t look to defamate, degrade, or hurt someone’s career. For me mentioning it on a No. 1 record around the world, I thought it would be helping someone’s career and also keeping them relevant.”

He also invites her to join him on stage this weekend at the VMA’s, where he will be performing with Ne-Yo. Now, wouldn’t that be a site to see?!

Lindsay Lohan Suing Pitbull Over ‘Give Me Everything’ Lyrics

Lindsay Lohan has often been the subject of jokes, discussion, etc. since her various legal troubles started years ago.  This time, she’s taking legal action.  The often troubled actress is suing rapper Pitbull for the use of her name in his smash hit “Give Me Everything.”  The lyric in question is:

“Hustlers move in silence, so I’m tiptoein’ to keep flowin’/ I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.”

According to the lawsuit, she claims that “the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.”

Lohan is suing under the N.Y. civil law that protects individuals from being exploited for commercial purposes.  She also makes note that she is “a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild.”  Lohan and her lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, are looking to stop broadcasting of the song as well as unspecified damages.

Nooo, but I love this song….”grab somebody sexy, tell ’em heyyyy”…..smh you can’t snag that off the radio!  Lindsay, girl, I think your good repute went out the window awhile ago.  And why is this lawsuit happening months after the song came out? Bad timing in my opinion, but we’ll see what happens.

Sidenote: I forgot how well Marc Anthony sings.

Pitbull’s Planet Pit dropped yesterday and he celebrated by performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.  Pitbull looked very dapper in a fitted suit and was joined by Ne-Yo, who rocked his signature hat and some very cute glasses.  They definitely had the crowd going.  This is my jam.

divaTunes: 'Castle Made of Sand' Pitbull ft. Kelly Rowland & Jamie Drastik

Pitbull takes a break from the partying and gets serious with “Castle Made of Sand, ” the second single from his upcoming album Planet Pit.  The DJ Frank E-produced track features Kelly Rowland on the hook and Pitbull artist Jamie Drastik with his own verse.  The song’s subject matter is Pit’s mom as well as his absentee father.

He told EW.com: “It shows another side of me. But yet it has that big pop rhythmic feel to it…I think that when that hits the radio, people are going to look at me in a whole different light.”

I think this song is definitely a good look.  It has a different subject matter, but still has that party feel we’re used to hearing.  Listen below:
