Lady Gaga is sure to cement her place in pop culture history after this one.
The Born This Way singer will have an entire episode of the never-ending The Simpsons. In the episode titled “Lisa Goes Gaga,” the singer will make her way to Springfield after hearing that the entire town has an epidemic of low self-esteem. Specifically, she will save a depressed Lisa. That’s cute.
Creator Matt Groening had this to say about Gaga: “Since the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to have on the most iconic personalities of our time, and she’s it.”
Mother Monster is also taking her part very seriously: “I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor. That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines. I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. My dad’s probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.”
Her episode is set to air in 2012 during the show’s 23rd season, which debuts September 25. Will you be watching?!
Expect nothing but the weirdest when it comes to Lady Gaga. The pop star recently released the fourth single from her hit album Born This Way entitled “You And I”. Nothing short of a masterpiece, Gaga fans aren’t disappointed as she displays an alter ego along with top of the line visuals.
“I knew I wanted the video to be about me sprinting back and walking hundreds of thousands of miles to get him back.”
Sidenote: As with most Gaga videos, I’m confused, yet intrigued.
Take a look:
Mother Monster and her little monster elves will be taking over Madison Ave. this holiday season. The Born this Way singer and Barneys New York are collaborating to create her own interpretation of Santa’s Workshop at the company’s flagship store on Madison Ave. in New York City. The display will be shown on the entire fifth floor of the men’s store and online for those who won’t have the opportunity to see it in person.
Starting in mid-November, Gaga fans and shoppers can purchase Gaga-themed gifts and merchandise, including the super cute shopping bag pictured above. All of the limited edition small gift items will be created by the singer and her stylist Nicola Formachetti. 25% of the proceeds will go to a charity of her choice.
Barneys CEO Mark Lee said in a statement, “Partnering with [Lady Gaga] in this unprecedented collaborative way to create the largest and most all-encompassing holiday theme that Barneys has ever mounted is a thrill. As a New York City landmark, we wanted to celebrate Lady Gaga as a fellow New Yorker and amazing talent.”
I’m sure whatever she creates will be an eyeful. Can’t wait.
Divas were united last night in Atlantic City, NJ as Lady Gaga sat in the audience to watch fellow pop artists Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj perform. The Born This Way singer, dressed in a barely there outfit took in the Femme Fatale show with a friend and seemed to enjoy herself. After performing “Slave 4 U,” Britney gave Gaga a shout out:
“Atlantic City, I have a very special guest here tonight. Lady Gaga is in the house! It is such an honor to have her here.”
The crowd went nuts as a light shone on Gaga, who formed a heart in her hand to Brit. Watch the video below (at the 3:05 mark):
Mother Monster continues to aggressively promote Born This Way, even after selling over a million copies in its first week of release. Gaga sat at the round table with the ladies of The View as co-host talking about the late Clarence Clemons and Amy Winehouse.
And of course, she performed her smash hit “The Edge of Glory” and new single “You and I.” She’s one hardworking diva!
