The wait is almost over.
J. Cole had big news for his fans on Twitter. Today, he announced the title and release date of his much anticipated debut album. Cole World: The Sideline Story (continuing the basketball theme) will drop September 27. It features production from Cole himself, No I.D, Danjahandz and Brian Kidd, as well as a collaboration with RocNation boss Jay-Z.
He recently unveiled the album’s first single “Work Out,” which samples Kanye West’s “Workout Plan” and Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up.” Cole, who’s currently on tour with Rihanna, revealed plans to release another mixtape before the album’s release. I hope he puts out another single from the album as well.
Will you be buying Cole World come September?
We all loved his mixtapes The Come Up and Friday Night Lights and now after much anticipation J. Cole will begin promo for his first album. Geared to take flight next week this young and ambitious rapper from Fayetteville, North Carolina (AKA Da Ville) says,
“We finally married a single and we picked it, so that’s next week. There’s no more holdup,”
“As of next week, you’ll see me on full-fledged promo mode.”
Keeping it cool at the BET nominations conference J. Cole denied access to the title of the album only saying,
“It’s summertime, it’s incredible. It samples one of my favorite albums from my growing up experience.”
There’s just something about dropping an album in the summer. I’ve been waiting too long for J.Cole’s album and with all the anticipation I hope he delivers.
Will you be buying J.Cole’s album this summer???
