The late and very talented singer Amy Winehouse will have a fashion line coming out this fall. To assist in Winehouse’s memory and legacy, designer Fred Perry has plans on finishing the line. In a statement Perry says:
“After much consideration and with the blessing of Amy’s family, we have decided to release the AW11 Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry Collection. Amy was passionate and dedicated to the collaboration, and her signature style is clearly stamped across each piece. Amy’s royalties and fees from both collections will be donated to the soon-to-be-established Amy Winehouse Foundation. Fred Perry will also make a seasonal donation to the Foundation.”
Amy most definitely had her own signature style. If you saw high hair and cat eyes, you could most likely guess it was Amy. Before her passing the singer had the following to say about the collection:
“Yeah, yeah, it was not hard at all, not hard at all, because, like … I knew exactly what I wanted,” she said of helping to design the collection. “And I love Fred Perry so much. I was honored that they would even, like, ‘Do you want to come and do a line?’ Me? Like, me?”
I’m happy for the line to come and aid in the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
