Amy Winehouse Tributes: Adele & Melanie Fiona (Video)

Celebrities continue to unveil their own Amy Winehouse tributes since the famed singer was found dead in her apartment this weekend (7/23).  There is no doubt that Amy paved the way for Adele, who has a tight grip on the Billboard charts with her record breaking album 21.  Today, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer wrote a blog post dedicated to Ms. Winehouse.  Read below:

“Not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it. “With no fuss and no compromise. But she knew what she was capable of and didn’t even need to try. If she wanted to do something she would and if she didn’t she’d say f— off. It came easy to her and that’s why we all loved her so much. We believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blasé about the whole thing.

I don’t think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming. Although I’m incredibly sad about Amy passing I’m also reminded of how immensely proud of her I am as well. And grateful to be inspired by her. Amy flies in paradise xx.”

Canadian songbird Melanie Fiona also paid tribute to one of her favorite artists through song, posting a video she made some time ago:

“Earlier on this year, I made this video and never posted it.  Today, it’s all I can do to express my gratitude to one of my favorite artists. May your music live on to inspire others, as it has inspired me. R.I.P. AMY WINEHOUSE. xo.”

The song Fiona sings is “Wake Up Alone” from Winehouse’s Back to Black.  Girl can sang! Watch below:

In related news:  Coroners today came to inconclusive results on Amy’s autopsy.  All that’s known is that she was found lying in bed by her bodyguard and that there were no drugs present in the room.  We’ll keep you updated as more info is unveiled.

divaTunes: Lil Wayne- “Sorry For The Wait”

Lil Wayne has sampled the beat from Adele’s dynamic hit “Rolling In The Deep” for his track “Sorry For The Wait”. Putting these two names in the same sentence sounds wild but it WORKS. Wayne raps:

Ain’t nobody f*ckin with me/first degree murder/you can get your degree muthaf*cka

The beat has a fast tempo and Weezy matches it with clever rhymes and wit. Take a listen, this is definitely a hawt track!

Adele Returning to the Road; Reveals Plans for Next LP

Adele is on the mend after taking a break from her tour dued to laryngitis.  The “Rolling in the Deep” singer will hit the road in August to make up her US dates and in September for a new round of dates in the UK.  She tells BBC Radio 1 (about her laryngitis):

“It’s basically a hole in your vocal chord, but I sang through it, so that’s why it popped…But I’m better now. It’s fine—I got the all-clear.”

Woo hoo!  She also tells the UK Magazine Q about plans for her next album:

“I’ve accumulated some things to write about again. I’d go into the studio tomorrow if I could.”

“It won’t be a big production. I want it to be quite acoustic and piano-led. I want to write it, record it, producer it all and master it on my own.”

“I think it’ll take a lot longer because I want to do it this way. When I move house in the summer, my sound engineer is going to come and help me install a studio and teach me how to use it.”

“I don’t really care about expectations. There was enough of it with this record. If you deliver the songs I think you get away with it. I’m not bothered. I’m not expecting my next record to be as big as this one. That’s impossible.”

I love that she’s keeping it real.  Are you excited to hear Adele’s new sound in the future?
