We all have heard by now about the incident that occurred when Memphitz Wright, husband to reality star Toya Carter, was arrested at an Atlanta airport for carrying a 40 caliber gun in his backpack. I’m sure everyone hung their hand in shame and called him all sorts of names but now he tells the story from his point of view. He called in to Atlanta’s V-103 Frank and Wanda Show and said the following:
I’m embarrassed about it, I’m not proud of it…It’s not something I’m going around parading about. It really was a simple mistake… it was a big mistake.
I have a license. I went and took the time and got my license. It’s just for protection and self defense only, to protect my family. That’s what I was taught to do. I’m not driving around like a hoodlum out there. I usually have it locked up in the house or in my car when I’m traveling. So I took it out of my car and put it my backpack and put it in the house. I hadn’t traveled in a week or so and me & my wife were traveling. So we were headed to the Magic show in Las Vegas. We we’re rushing like “I can’t miss this flight.” So I picked up my computer and my bag and just went to the airport.
First of all, I would’ve never pushed my bag through the scanner. I’ve been traveling too long and I’ve transported guns before. Somebody was like, “Somebody got a gun; it’s a gun in this bag.” I was looking around like “What fool brought a gun?” and Toya was looking at me like “It’s in your bag.” “No, it’s not.” Then I started remembering and I was like “Ohhh, No! I put the..”
Officer Davidson, which thank you he really didn’t put me through the embarrassment of anything. He was like “I can feel your spirit and can tell you’re not into that type of stuff.” I was like “Man, I never would’ve …..but I know you gotta do what you got to do.” I told [Toya] she could go ahead and go to Las Vegas. She said, “I’m not leaving you.” I love my wife.
It’s unfortunate and hopefully he’s truly learned from this.
The world now knows about Lil’ Wayne dissing Jay-Z in his track “It’s Good” which comes from what is now a leaked album Tha Carter IV; although no one seems to care much about it leaking. In a recent interview with VIBE, Wayne spoke about the song and his lyrics saying:
“I know there won’t be any repercussions behind what I did,”says a confident Wayne when asked if he had second thoughts about recording his acidic verse for ‘It ‘s Good.’ “I know for a fact music is about perception. You can’t do anything but perceive what you hear. I know that for a fact. So I can’t ever be upset about someone’s reaction.”
My mind is spinning; will Jay respond? Are Drake and Jadakiss coming at Hov as well? We are perceiving what we hear alright and things are not looking good!
Everything that Lady Gaga touches seems to turn to gold, so, it’s no surprise when she’s recognized for doing just that.
Today (8/25), Forbes has released their list of World’s 100 Most Powerful Female Celebrities and Mother Monster is #11 on the list. She sold a milli in a week, headlined a never-ending tour, took over social media and performed just about everywhere. Are we even surprised???
Other notable people to make the list include Hilary Clinton (#2), Michelle Obama (#8), Oprah Winfrey (#14), Beyonce Knowles (#17), Angelina Jolie (#29) and Sarah Palin (#34). View the entire list here.
This is definitely the end of an era.
Apple CEO, founder and executive chief officer Steve Jobs has resigned after 14 years in his position. The reason is most likely his health problems; he was previously diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been on medical leave since January.
His official resignation letter reads:
To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple”s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee. As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple. I believe Apple”s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
According to multiple news sources, company shares dived as much as 7% after his announcement. Does this mean that people don’t have faith in Cook? What do you think of this news?
Rihanna and J. Cole have a few things in common. The two are both signed with Roc Nation, they’ve gone on tour together but do they also have a sex tape? Porn company Hustler is adamant that they possess a sex tape of the two young stars. They told Radaronline.com the following:
“Hustler is in possession of the Rihanna and J. Cole tape,” says a rep. “We have seen it and we do not know what we are going to do with it yet.”
In the meantime Rihanna has taken to Twitter to shoot down the allegations:
“We don’t believe U, U need more people…AND ofcourse an actual sextape! #slownewsday.”
I can’t believe this porn company, who doesn’t know what to do with a sex tape of what could possibly be two of the hottest young stars out. Anything for some promo these days I guess.
All hell is about to break loose if the rumors circulating around that Lil’ Wayne dissed Jay-Z are true!
On Lil’ Wayne’s track “It’s Good” featuring Jadakiss and Drake off “Tha Carter IV”, which mind you isn’t even out yet, Wayne spits a verse that will have you contemplating. The “How To Love” rapper shows no love saying:
“Talkin’ about baby money, I got your baby money, kidnap your bitch, get that how much you love your lady money/ I know you fake ni**a, press your brakes ni**a/ I’ll take you out, that’s a date, ni**a,”
Many take the verse to be a response from Jay-Z’s verse in H.A.M. were he spits:
“I’m like really, half a billi, ni**a really you got baby money/ Keep it real with ni**as, ni**as ain’t got my lady money,”
Back in March Lil’ Wayne addressed the verse to MTV News saying:
“‘Ye played it for me personally,” said Wayne. “I went to a session with him the other night. I wouldn’t ask him about a Jay-Z line because he’s not Jay-Z.
“Actually the subject that he’s talking about in that line, I can’t box with the god with that, nah mean. I’ll be the first one to tell you that. Given my wit and the type of person that I am, I’ll capitalize and I’ll play off of it.”
News is circulating that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are talking about separating. According to In Touch Weekly, an insider told them that the couple have decided to split after 13 years. This is huge news because never before have we heard any news like this.
The Huffington Post is saying Jada once said to Uptown Magazine:
“People think that Will and I don’t spend a lot of time together. Too much time, actually, if you ask me. It’s always nice to have a little time apart. Sometimes you need that.”
This is just all to sudden. Hopefully Will and Jada will release a statement shutting these rumors down.
****And they have****
The couple released a statement saying the following,
“Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false.” “We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”
Don’t worry, we knew it wasn’t true!
