Can you believe that Mary J. Blige’s 10th studio album will be hitting retailers in October?! This diva’s been doing the damn thing for a long time. Last night, she released a new single from My Life II: The Journey Continues called “25/8.” It’s produced by Eric Hudson with a super soulful beat and equally soulful lyrics:
“‘Cause I got days and days of love for you boy/ And I don’t wanna have to rush, but 24/7 ain’t enough/ ‘Cause I got so much love for you boy/ I need another hour and a day so I can love you 25/8.”
Lil’ Wayne teams up with Bruno Mars for the track “Mirrors” on the deluxe edition of “Tha Carter IV” which will be available on Monday. Bruno adds the soul to the track and it matches great as Wayne gets his feelings out. He references his estranged father and Michael Jackson saying:
(“Lookin’ at me now I can see my past/ Damn, I look just like my fu**in’ dad”), while taking inspiration from the King of Pop. “And no message could have been any clearer, so I’m starting with the man in the mirror,” he says. “MJ taught me that.”

Rapper Nicki Minaj is nowhere to be found on the new David Guetta track “Turn Me On.” Instead, Young Money’s first lady is singing the entire time…and sounds pretty great doing it. I hardly recognized her voice. Guetta previously told Billboard:
“I am so proud of what [Nicki] did on this record because we know her for those crazy raps but the other record that we have, she is singing like—oh man. The world is gonna be shocked. Because they don’t know her like this. And we came up with that amazing song and she just killed it.”
The song will appear on Nothing But the Beat, dropping next week (August 29). Take a listen:
Jennifer Hudson is going from R&B to dance diva with David Guetta. The I Remember Me singer is featured on “Night of Your Life,” another track from Guetta’s Nothing But the Beat dropping August 29. This reminds me of 90’s club music…and not in a bad way.

Lil’ Wayne was so sorry for making his fans wait for his new album that he created a mixtape to hold us all over until its arrival. Recently, a track entitled “Put The Light On” has leaked and it goes hard. There’s no word right now if this will be a track on the new album, but I would like it to be. Produced by Bangladesh, Weezy raps:
“Shining in this bitch, I got them bitches on my swit-ag/ Swagger on Bruce Lee, kung fu kick ass, come though in a coupe, make that money hula hoop.”
Take a listen:
50 Cent has debuted the first single from his fifth studio album. Produced by Cataracs, 50 let us know that he’s on it. The song can be a potentially club banger. The part that caught my ear was when he referred to Jay-Z and the illuminati:
“If Jay’s Illuminati, what am I?/ Am I Bugatti?” asks 50 while spitting flashy rhymes. “Me I’m so B.I.G./ Notorious ya dig?”
Not quite sure how to take that one, listen below.

Travis Garland and JoJo get real sexy in their duet titled “Paint,” an r&b tune set over a sample of Jai Paul’s “BTSTU.” The song will appear on Travis’ next mixtape. JoJo’s taking all this time to record viral tracks; I just hope she’s still working on her new album Jumping Trains. We’ve been waiting long enough.
“I just want to do you in the paint/ I want to make love to you in the place/ Rollin’ around in the mess that we made/ Brushin’ and strokin’, the best sex we made.” <<<<OKAAAAAYYYYY Miss JoJo!!!
Chris Brown sounds like a sad puppy dog on “Open Road (I Love Her),” a new track that may appear on his next album Fortune. It’s a mid tempo piano ballad with tin whistle sounds that will remind you of the classic romance film Titanic. Chris released a snippet of it yesterday and had this to say about the new music he’s creating:
“If the whole song doesn’t leak then it’s going on fortune!” wrote Chris. “I have so many songs that I’ve recorded in my opinion that are siiiccccckkkk! I just really hope people appreciate the diversity on Fortune!”
In related news, Ace Hood has released the video for “Body to Body,” the Chris Brown assisted single from his next album Blood, Sweat & Tears, dropping August 9. Watch below:

All I Want is You singer Miguel has just released the video for his song “Quickie”. The video mixes the classic black and white film with the sensuality of the song. According to Rap-Up.com, Miguel states:
“I was very hands-on in the execution and the creative elements—from casting to the treatment to choosing the director and cinematography, the entire theme of the two videos—it’s kind of my brainchild.”
