Oh, No!: Gavin DeGraw Hospitalized After Brutal Attack
Singer Gavin DeGraw is in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital in NYC after being brutally attacked early this morning.
The “I Don’t Want to Be” singer was brutally attacked by 3 men just 5 blocks from National Underground, a bar he co-owns in the East Village with his brother Joey. After being jumped, he stumbled 13 blocks to 3rd Ave. and 19th Street, where he was hit by a cab. Sheeeesh.
A witness called the police right after. Details have emerged from the NYPD on the incident:
“We have an assault report for an individual, a male, white 34, who was attacked by what he claims was three individuals at about 3 a.m. Monday morning on the corner of First Avenue and East 6th Street…His injuries were facial and they’re not life threatening.”
DeGraw suffered a concussion, broken nose, black eyes and cuts and bruises. He’s currently on tour with Maroon Five and Train; he’s canceled tonight’s appearance and will be replaced by Nikki Jean. Gavin’s rep has just released the following statement:
“Police are conducting an investigation of the attack. Gavin and his family appreciate everyone’s concern at this time. We have no information yet regarding his upcoming concert dates and promotion for his new album.”
